Slovenski Camps

Prepare for the SAT test while
Enjoying a traditional summer camp experience

SAT Prep Camp leads students through four hours of SAT study each day. Campers will work with a tutor for two hours in the morning, and two hours in the afternoon. We will use the College Board’s Official Digital SAT Study Guide. Students will complete sample questions, drills, and practice tests to become familiar with the test content and format.

Campers should each bring a laptop or tablet that allows them to download the College Board SAT app. They should also bring a calculator.

The tutors will guide students to complete workbook sections in the textbook and on computer screens. Students will do drills and a practice test with a tutor nearby. Then a tutor will review answers and approaches with the students.

Our tutors will be supervised by Dugan Slovenski, who was a professional SAT tutor for ten years with Maine Prep. The tutors are a mix of college students and college graduates who have been hired because of their skills as test-takers and/or teachers. The tutors will patiently supervise progress through the workbook. They will teach as much subject material as they can to help students. They will also teach strategies that will help test-takers demonstrate their best academic efforts on the practice tests, and then later in the real examinations. We will work on developing Concentration, Confidence and Composure for test day performance.

After the two-hour sessions, the SAT Prep campers will participate in general summer camp activities. They will have choices that include swimming, kayaking, hiking, sailing, wind-surfing, arts & crafts, music, knitting, chess, volleyball, gaga ball, badminton, and basketball.
