About Code Camp

Campers who love challenging logic puzzles will love computer science and coding. After a few hours of guided development and programming, campers will work independently or in groups on projects or challenges.

This course is aimed at young individuals who have little to no programming experience. If students progress faster than other students, I will introduce more challenging curriculum to keep the course fun and interesting.

Led by Liam Cassidy, a graduate of Tufts University, your child will work individually and in group sessions to create and modify code to perform tasks and solve problems. Brief lectures kick off each session before the kids go to work and try it themselves.

Working primarily in Python, campers will learn:

  • Variables
  • Operations
  • Conditionals
  • Functions
  • Agile teamwork

Students will complete daily programming projects that allow students to practically apply the lessons they learned during the day. In addition, students will complete a course project that will allow them to exercise all the skills they will learn throughout the course.

Not only will your child flex their critical thinking skills, but the camper will have the chance to participate in outdoor camp activities like swimming, kayaking, hiking, dodgeball, volleyball, and more! All of the traditional camp experiences are scheduled into the robotics camp, giving your camper the experience of a lifetime.
