How to Get Faster

Speed Camp will teach you how to be a faster soccer player, how to be a faster lacrosse player, how to be a faster athlete in general. Speed gives you an edge in all sports. Here are some tips for developing quicker muscles and faster foot speed:

Train like you want to be - Drilling with snap and hustle teaches your body that quickness is something you will be demanding on a regular basis. Your body responds to the conditions you create for it.

Sprint downhill - Force your muscles above and beyond their normal quickness by sprinting at top speed on gently sloping downhills. We have great downhill slopes at Speed Camp.

Balance - Exercises where balance is involved get your muscles firing in the same quick way you need them to during competition. Do one legged squats, lift with free-weights, and learn to ride the unicycle. Balancing builds your fast-twitch muscles.

Compete in the off-season - Do Track & Field in the off season to learn more about sprinting technique and keep your fitness level up.

Keep it fun - You will stay more easily motivated to continue getting faster if your speed workouts are fun and challenging. Build exercises into your routine that allow for measured success so you can see that you are improving, such as standing long jumps for distance, or walking on your hands.

Come to Speed Camp - Learn a set of drills, plyometrics, exercises, and challenges that will help you get faster.
