Drama
Camp is located on a beautiful wooded peninsula that extends a half mile into
Panther Pond. The 120 acre peninsula is criss-crossed
by over a mile of trails through oak, birch, hemlock, and white pine trees.
Drama Camp activities are conducted mostly in the main lodge and in meeting areas under the pine trees carpeted by pine needles. Performances are staged in the dining hall, main lodge, and in outdoor areas such as the beach and the campfire circle.
Active games such as dodgeball, kick ball, capture the frisbee, and tug-of-war are conducted on our expansive athletic field.
The forest trail system is used for active games and hiking.
The natural beach is flat, wide, fifty meters long, and composed of fine golden sand that makes it a great site for swimming and beach volleyball. The beach is bordered by great shade trees under which there are beach chairs that provide a beautiful setting for reading and knitting.
The camp dining hall sits at the shore's edge so that every table has a view of Panther Pond through large screened windows.
Campers stay overnight in ten airy screened cabins that are as close as fifteen yards from the beach and no more than forty yards from the beach. Boys cabins are on one side of the beach. Girls cabins are on the other side of the beach. Residential counselors and staff supervise the cabins each evening. Campers fall asleep at night to the sound of breezes rustling through the pine trees and waves lapping up against the shore.
