Coach Slovenski has been the head coach of men’s and women’s track & field at Bowdoin College since 1987, and the director of the Bowdoin College Day Camp since 1989.
“The Dodgeball Camp will be an overnight version of the Day Camp,” said Coach Slovenski. “We will have the same liberal arts style program that promotes good character through active games, competition, creativity, music, poetry, and reading. The camp will be a great match for Bowdoin Day campers, home-schooled students, and other children looking for a terrific summer camp week in Maine .”
Coach Slovenski was the founder and director of the Bates College Track & Field Camp from 1989 through 2004. Peter and Dugan are the founders and have been co-directors with Dick Fosbury of the Dick Fosbury Track & Field Camp since 2005. Peter and Dugan worked for a combined 14 summers at Camp Arcadia and Camp Agawam as swimming instructors, unit leaders, and a waterfront director. Peter has been a certified lifeguard for over twenty years.
Coach Slovenski graduated from Lewiston High school in 1974. He earned a B.A. in English from Dartmouth College in 1979, and a master’s degree in educational administration from Stanford University in 1980. He was selected to the All-Ivy League track & field team as a pole vaulter in 1977.
Dugan graduated from El Cerrito high School in 1977. She earned a B.A. in History from Stanford University in 1980 where she was a member of the Synchronized Swim Team. She received public teacher certification from Bates College in 1985.
